To learn more about the outcomes we are committed to on behalf of our five HOPE University Stakeholders, please click on the graphic to the right.

Training Modules have been designed for some of these Stakeholders, and they are listed below. Modules can be done in order, based on how your role with HOPE, or you can access any of them at any time in the Learning Center tab above. Please click on the title of the Module to begin the training.

    • What are Regional Centers?‍ ‍

      Some of the basics about the State of California Regional Center system. To dive even deeper there is much information online and available about Regional Centers and the state agency which oversees them: the Department of Developmental Services.

      Practical lessons about working with people with an I/DD based on the HCBS Final Rule. A must see!

      Participants will be able to identify how learning and accountability improve outcomes for residents, partners, and staff.

    • Managing By Budget

      Many of the decision at HOPE are guided by our Board approved budget. This module helps to articulate our approach.

    • Statement of Activity (Profit and Loss)

      A deep dive on how to evaluate HOPE’s income and expense.

      This video shows how nonprofit financial reports differ from those of for-profit organizations.

    • Tips for Success

      The module is designed to support HOPE Team members in their success, to share norms in HOPE culture

      that may not be explicit, and to give examples of behaviors and processes that reflect HOPE values.

    • Non-Profit Financials
      Nonprofit Board members, executives, and management staff of nonprofit organizations need a solid understanding of the organization’s financial statements to successfully plan for the future, build capacity, and preventing loss or fraud. You will learn: -What are financial statements -What documents should be included -How to understand the information in the statements -Cash vs Revenue -“Red flags” and other warning signs Money = mission, so come learn your way around nonprofit finances!
